The organisers of the Good Ads Matter Awards have announced the Piyush Pandey Polaris Award.
Piyush Pandey, recipient of the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, has long held an eternal place in the industry's hearts for the wonderfully gifted man that he was. The organisers aim to pay tribute to the 'Man of the Match' of Indian advertising with a vision to immortalise his brilliance.
The winning work embodies Pandey’s philosophies both on and off the field: Someone who dares to play on the front foot through all highs and lows. Someone who tells stories with courage and purpose. Someone who pours their heart into their craft so unapologetically it leaves a mark. Someone who not only understands culture, but shapes it.
Every year, across the 'Film Craft' and 'Creative' categories, all entrants will stand on equal ground to be considered for this commemoration. The category jury themselves will come together to nominate an entrant from each category who deserves a podium for this win. For this special honour, the Good Ads Matter team will bring forth an exclusive jury of legacy ad-makers, dear folks and creative partners of Pandey: those who knew him best, and will recognise the work that reflects his philosophies best.
His majestic moustache embossed on the metal, almost like Pandey himself smiling at the recipient from under his lion’s mane, serves as a testament to resilience and a reminder of the grandiosity of the recipient’s work: always under the मूंछ of the greatest storyteller in Indian advertising.
The trophy has been designed by Vijay Sawant, along with Mahesh Gharat and Dharam Valia at Hungry Films behind its concept.
