The practice draws on WolfzHowl's work across brand strategy and social development programmes.

WolfzHowl Strategic Instigations has launched Good Wolf, a dedicated practice focused on citizen and community behaviour change across social development, sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Good Wolf marks WolfzHowl’s first branded service launch in 14 years and will work with organisations on the design, implementation and evaluation of programmes aimed at driving measurable changes in beliefs and behaviours.

The launch comes as spending across CSR, sustainability and social development continues to increase in India. CSR expenditure by NSE main board-listed companies rose 23% in FY25 to INR 22,212 crore, with nearly half of mandated companies spending above the required minimum. Investments through government programmes, ESG initiatives and foundations have also continued to expand.

However, measuring the long-term impact of such programmes remains a challenge, with outcome tracking varying across initiatives. While programmes typically measure activities and immediate outputs, longer-term evaluation increasingly considers whether interventions result in sustained changes in beliefs and behaviour.

Good Wolf’s services will include belief diagnostics and community research, behaviour-change strategy, intervention and engagement design, communication strategy, and measurement and evaluation of belief and behavioural outcomes.

The practice will operate across public health, gender and social equity, environment and climate adaptation, financial inclusion, education and skilling, and responsible corporate behaviour. It will work with foundations, government programmes, companies with CSR mandates, NGOs and healthcare organisations.

Good Wolf will use WolfzHowl’s proprietary Belief and Behaviour Operating System (BbOS) methodology. The framework maps existing beliefs and the behaviours associated with them, before using these insights to inform interventions and evaluate whether changes in beliefs translate into behavioural outcomes over time.

The practice draws on WolfzHowl’s work across brand strategy and social development programmes. Its previous sustainability and behaviour-change assignments include projects for Mahindra e2o and BEEM, Husk’s solar and rural e-commerce brand.

Other programmes include Samman, a community belief programme for the Jal Jeevan Mission developed with Tata Trusts and four state governments, as well as field programmes involving women dairy farmers in Dholpur, Rajasthan.

WolfzHowl has also worked on Khud Se Jeet, a cervical cancer belief-change campaign, and Pehchaan Ki Chori Wali Bimari, an initiative focused on public understanding of dementia. The firm has additionally worked on corporate CSR programmes and other mandates in the social development sector.

Kalyan Ram Challapalli, founder, WolfzHowl Strategic Instigations, said, "India's social capital has learned to flow. Now it has to learn to prove. Brands learned long ago that behaviour does not change until belief does, and development capital deserves that same rigour. Good Wolf is our first branded service because this work means the most to us. We are not launching an ambition—we are naming a body of work we have already done. We leave behind an operating system, not a report."
