Meta is beginning to roll out ‘Imagine Me’ on Meta AI within Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. The new AI-powered feature allows users to create personalised images of themselves directly in chats.Imagine Me gives people a new way to express themselves by simply messaging Meta AI with a prompt like “imagine me as a 90s rockstar” or “imagine me as a comic book hero.” Meta AI will then generate a unique image based on the person’s uploaded setup photos and the prompt they’ve shared.

The feature was rolled out in the US market last year.

To use Imagine Me, users can go to their Instagram messages, Messenger and WhatsApp chats and start a conversation with @Meta AI on personal and group chats. Thereafter, they can send a prompt starting with “Imagine me as...”. First-time users will be asked to provide a few setup photos to help Meta AI generate more personalised and accurate images.

Once uploaded, tapping Generate creates an AI-powered image based on the user’s appearance and the prompt provided.

Alternatively, users can type 'Imagine me' followed by a scenario, idea, or style- such as 'on the moon,' 'in a Renaissance painting,' or 'wearing futuristic fashion.' Meta AI uses the uploaded images to understand the user’s facial features and generate personalised results within moments. These photos can be updated or deleted at any time in Meta AI settings. Users can also manage their preferences, retake photos, or turn off the feature as needed.
