Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has appointed Aasif Malbari as its managing director and chief executive officer, effective immediately, following the resignation of Sudhir Sitapati from the company’s board and from his position as MD and CEO.

The leadership change comes as Sitapati tendered his resignation via email on 10 August 2026, with effect from 11 August.

Malbari previously served as global chief financial officer and president, Godrej Africa, Middle East and GCPL International.

Before joining GCPL, he held senior roles at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Motors. 

In a career spanning nearly three decades, Malbari also had a stint of over 17 years at Hindustan Unilever, where he worked across finance and business roles.
