This move further cements TCS's commitment to New Zealand, where the company has been a long-term partner in driving digital innovation across industries through its TCS Co-Innovation Network (COIN).

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a strategic partnership with The Warehouse Group (TWG) to advance the retailer’s digital transformation journey.

As part of the association, TCS aims to modernise and consolidate TWG’s technology landscape, streamline managed services, and maximise value from existing investments across the retail value chain.

The partnership also includes initiatives to strengthen workforce capabilities through digital and AI upskilling.

Leveraging its retail expertise, TCS will collaborate with TWG on strategic initiatives aimed at reducing technology debt, standardising platforms, and driving operational efficiencies. The focus will be on continuous performance improvement supported by strong governance and transparent reporting.

This move further cements TCS’s commitment to New Zealand, where the company has been a long-term partner in driving digital innovation across industries through its TCS Co-Innovation Network (COIN).

TCS also developed the Asia Pacific Digital Sustainability Index in 2022 and continues to foster digital talent in the country through its flagship GoIT and GoIT Girls STEM programs.

TCS brings extensive global experience in retail, working with the world’s leading retailers to enable profitable and sustainable growth. Its portfolio includes platforms such as TCS Omnistore, which supports unified commerce, and TCS Optumera, an AI-powered strategic intelligence solution for optimised merchandising decisions.

Mark Stirton, group chief executive officer, The Warehouse Group, said, “We’ve spent the past year lowering costs, but this partnership allows us to go deeper. TCS will build on our current cost initiatives and unlock the capability and capacity to obtain more value from the technology investments we’ve made to date. The partnership is estimated to reduce costs in licences and managed services by up to USD 40 million over five years and will help free up our technology teams to focus on what matters most, delivering more value for our customers, communities, and shareholders.”

Girish Ramachandran, president – growth markets, Tata Consultancy Services, added, “We are proud to be a strategic partner to The Warehouse Group for this pivotal phase of transformation. Leveraging our global expertise in retail technology, data and AI, we are committed to supporting one of New Zealand’s largest and most iconic retail brands in streamlining their systems and enhancing capabilities through AI adoption and thereby laying the foundation for sustained, long-term value creation.”
