Gillette India has announced the elevation of Kapil Sharma to vice president and category head – grooming, effective August 1, 2025.

He succeeds Abhishek Desai, who has been promoted to a regional leadership position for Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, and will be based in Dubai. 

Desai had been handling the role since 2023. He joined the organisation in 2007 and has held various positions over the years.

Currently, Sharma is serving as the global vice president - digital commerce and superior retail execution. Having been associated with the organisation for over two decades, he joined P&G in 2001 as key account manager. He has progressed through various positions since joining the company.

Sharma said, “I truly look forward to returning to India and leading the Grooming category that presents immense opportunities. It’s a privilege to serve our consumers, our stakeholders again, providing them with best-in-class innovations that enhance their daily lives. With India being a pivotal market for P&G globally, it fills me with pride to contribute to this remarkable growth
