OpenAI has announced the launch of ChatGPT Health.
It aims to be an AI agent that brings together one's health information and ChatGPT's AI together to help users feel more informed, prepared, and confident navigating one's health concerns.
According to a note by ChatGPT, 230 million users are using its services to ask health and wellness questions each week.
ChatGPT Health aims to offer privacy, security, and data controls across ChatGPT with additional, layered protections designed specifically for health, including purpose-built encryption and isolation to keep health conversations 'protected and compartmentalised'.
Users can securely connect medical records and wellness apps to ground conversations and to ensure responses are more relevant and useful.
The offering has been designed and developed in close collaboration with physicians around the world to provide clear and useful health information. According to the note, ChatGPT worked for over two years with more than 260 physicians who have practised in 60 countries and with dozens of specialties, to understand what makes an answer to a health question helpful—or potentially harmful.
Users can connect medical records and wellness apps—like Apple Health, Function, and MyFitnessPal—so ChatGPT can help understand recent test results, prepare for appointments with their doctor, and get advice on how to approach diet and workout routines.
For now, users can sign up to be on the waitlist.
