Gaurav Bahirvani, executive chairperson, One One Six Network, has announced the launch of Test Twenty.

Labelled the 'fourth format', Test Twenty, aims to reimagine the future of cricket. Former cricketers AB de Villiers, Sir Clive Lloyd, Matthew Hayden and Harbhajan Singh have joined Bahirvani on the advisory board, while Michael Fordham, former CEO, Rajasthan Royals, joins as chief operating officer.

The format looks to fuse the strategic depth of Test cricket with the speed of T20. It will be played over 80 overs, two innings of 20 overs each, with scores carried forward across innings like Test cricket.

Test Twenty is labelled a youth-first global movement, looking to attract talent between the age group of 13-19.

Test Twenty is built to reignite the emotion, artistry, and endurance of Test cricket; all within a single day. What NCAA has done for basketball in the U.S, we are creating the NCAA-equivalent for global cricket. We’re constructing a connected talent ecosystem - a global feeder line - that gives every young player regardless of gender, background, or geography, an equal path to recognition and growth.”
