The Hindu has released a film to showcase its 'real journalism'.
Conceptualised by Talented, the film takes the humour route to reveal how other newspapers 'shout headlines louder than they speak' and how that's not real journalism.
Set in a hospital room, the film shows a nurse tell a lady how her husband hasn't eaten dinner or breakfast and asks 'her to deal with him'. The wife looks towards her husband and asks 'why is he being difficult' to which he casually replies - 'read the newspaper'. The lady opens a newspaper and starts barking much to the man's surprise. She's then handed The Hindu which leads her to calmly read the news, indicating that the newspaper is 'written by journalists'.
What we think about it:Â After the 147-year celebration print ad which delivers the 'written by journalists' message in a more serious tone, this takes the humour route to deliver the same message. The impact of the print ad may have been 'harder', but this film helps spread the narrative.
The film was released on social media on 7 October.
