Voltas has rolled out a campaign that brings together real-life mother-son duo and actors, Ranbir Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor to spotlight its Vertis AI air conditioner range.
The campaign, comprising three films, dramatise a universal domestic standoff: the ‘perfect AC temperature’ tussle. Rather than showcasing AI as abstract tech jargon, the films frame it as a peacemaker in multi-generational homes where comfort is deeply subjective. The campaign aims to demonstrate how the Vertis AI series adapts to varying usage patterns, anticipating preferences rather than reacting to commands.
The films lean into the easy chemistry between the duo. Set within a typical living room scenario, the first film’s narrative revolves around a familiar friction point, differing temperature preferences. Neetu playfully recalls how, as a child, Ranbir would complain about feeling cold under the air conditioner. In response, Ranbir highlights the evolution of cooling technology that now eliminates constant remote adjustments.
The second film extends this generational lens, while continuing the playful banter between the duo. Neetu teasingly accuses Ranbir of no longer being the considerate son he once was. Ranbir counters by explaining that he has installed an AI-powered AC with climate sensing, adaptive cooling, and geofencing capabilities, so that the system now 'understands' consumers’ needs, eliminating the need for manual intervention.
The third execution plays out along similar lines, focusing on the AC’s geofencing technology, wherein the system senses when users are nearing home and adjusts the cooling accordingly, reinforcing the proposition that the comfort offered is proactive, not reactive.
What we think about it: The campaign cleverly humanises AI by placing it at the centre of a relatable generational face-off. Ranbir and Neetu Kapoor’s real-life equation makes the interactions feel natural rather than staged. The chemistry is easy, the banter believable, and the storytelling rooted in lived-in family interactions in everyday Indian households.
