Manifest has partnered with IAA Voice of Change and UNICEF to pick the most gender progressive ads of last week.
The committee for this section consists of Nina Elavia Jaipuria, chairperson, Women Empowerment Committee, IAA India Chapter. Megha Tata, co-chairperson, Women Empowerment Committee, IAA India Chapter, and Geetanjali Master, partnership specialist, public and private sector engagement, resource mobilisation section, UNICEF Delhi.
The most gender progressive ad of the week was:
McDonald’s 'It’s Family'. It stood out among the FIFA-heavy advertising, showcasing warmth, inclusivity, and genuine family connections. The film was conceptualised by McCann India and was written by Prasoon Joshi.
Here's the review: The ad is inclusive across gender, age and demographics. It shows a little girl breaking her piggy bank and buying a burger for herself and her father to a grandmother whose excitement for a Happy Meal matches her grandson's. It features a mix of male and female characters, with women portrayed in various roles, including a McDonald’s serving staff member, reflecting diversity, family values, and inclusivity. The working girl (who receives a call from her boss) adds a good touch.
The other ads covered last week were:
Hyundai Motor Company (global)
Apple (global)
