Shailja Varghese has stepped down as chief content officer at Omnicom Media Group India, according to media reports.

Varghese joined Omnicom Media Group India in 2021 as head of content and was later elevated to the role of chief content officer. Her next move remains undisclosed. 

Her departure comes amid sweeping global restructuring following Omnicom’s USD 13-billion acquisition of Interpublic Group (IPG), completed on 26 November 2025. The consolidation is expected to reshape key leadership mandates and content capabilities across markets.

In a career spanning close to two decades, Varghese has worked across organisations such as  ZEE5, Wavemaker SEA, National Geographic Channels, Discovery Communications, and UTV, among others.
