Yannick Bolloré, chairperson and CEO, Havas, shared an email with all employees globally to clarify the company’s stance on news reports claiming it is looking to acquire WPP.

Bolloré stated that the group doesn't usually comment on market rumours, but felt it was important to answer questions from 'colleagues and clients', and categorically stated that it is not in discussions with WPP for any purchase.

Bolloré's mail stated that while it's looking at 'targeted acquisitions', Havas is not in 'ongoing discussions of that nature'.

In India, Havas has been linked with the independent media agency, Madison. Sir Martin Sorrell, founder and chairperson, S4 Capital, has also publicly spoken about how Dentsu should merge its international operations with Havas, with the former the former looking to sell its international business (outside of Japan).
