Journalist Palki Sharma has announced the launch of India Global Review (IGR), a new global media company headquartered in India.

Sharma shared the development through a LinkedIn post following her recent exit from Network18-owned Firstpost, where she served as managing editor.

At Firstpost, she anchored Vantage, a global affairs-focused monologue show that aired on Firstpost and CNN-News18.

IGR is being positioned as a digital-first platform focused on world affairs from an Indian perspective.

The company plans to expand its presence across regions, including the United States, Europe, West Asia, South Asia and Africa, with distribution across major internet platforms and connected television (CTV) ecosystems.

The company has also secured backing from institutional investors as it enters its initial phase of operations and looks to scale its international footprint.

Reflecting its global ambitions, IGR has initiated a hiring drive across editorial, production and digital roles in multiple geographies, alongside plans to establish international bureaus and a wider network of reporters.

Speaking about the launch, Sharma said, “India is no longer just part of the global conversation; it is shaping it. With India Global Review, we aim to build a credible, independent platform that brings clarity to world affairs through an Indian lens. In a noisy, polarised media landscape, our focus will be on facts, context and perspective, because how you see the world shapes what you believe.”

In a career spanning over, she has also worked for Wion and Hindustan Times, among others.
