A note stated that it will have 'meaningfully fewer ads than TV channels and other streaming services'

In a message to all its Prime users, Amazon has stated that its streaming platform, Prime Video, will include 'limited advertisements' while streaming movies and TV shows.

According to Prime Video, this will allow the company to continue investing in content.

It stated that it will have 'meaningfully fewer ads than TV channels and other streaming services'

While there's no change to its current pricing, for users looking to eliminate content with ads, users can pay an additional INR 129 per month, starting from 17 June.

The note stated that other Prime benefits for Amazon users will continue to remain the same.

Currently, users have access to Amazon Prime for INR 299 per month or INR 599 per quarter or INR 1499 per year.
