Indian children’s entertainment brand EMoMee has launched its first series on Netflix, 15 months after its launch, marking its entry into global streaming.

The first series, EMoMee: Big Skills for Little Ones, Minis, comprises 20 11-minute episodes built around life skills including confidence, kindness, curiosity, emotional intelligence and problem-solving.

Before this, the show was streaming on YouTube.

The founders of EMoMee, are ex-co-founders of creative agency The Glitch Pooja Jauhari and Varun Duggirala, also appeared on Shark Tank India, where they received offers from all five Sharks.

The Netflix series is aimed at pre-schoolers and their families, using everyday situations and short adventures to explore themes such as resilience, communication, empathy, confidence and curiosity.

The streaming launch comes a month after Manifest spoke to Jauhari and Duggirala for its August issue about their ambition to build an Indian children’s IP with global appeal. Founded in 2023 as a life-skills-first children’s entertainment brand, EMoMee was created as an alternative to the fast-paced, algorithm-led content the founders felt was dominating children’s screens. The duo said they see EMoMee as an IP company rather than a production studio, with ambitions to take its characters E, Mo and Mee beyond content into consumer products, licensing and live experiences. Jauhari had also said the property was already present in 100 countries and that the company’s longer-term ambition was to build an Indian children’s franchise with the cultural resonance of properties such as Peppa Pig and Bluey.

The streaming launch forms part of EMoMee’s wider expansion across streaming, live experiences, consumer products and licensing. The company is also set to showcase its content slate and franchise plans at MIPCOM later this year as it looks to build international distribution and licensing partnerships.

Jauhari said, “This launch represents much more than a new distribution platform. It is another milestone in building EMoMee into a global entertainment company. Every step we've taken, from growing a loyal audience to expanding onto streaming platforms, is helping us build a long-term franchise that will extend beyond content into consumer products, licensing and live experiences.”
