IPL to resume on 17 May

The remaining matches of the tournament will be played across six venues.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the IPL is scheduled to resume on 17 May after it was suspended for over a week because of security reasons.

A total of 17 matches are be left to be played. The remainder of the tournament will be played across six venues. The venue for the playoffs and final are yet to be disclosed.

The final will be played on 3 June.

Devajit Saikia, honorary secretary, BCCI, said, "The BCCI takes this opportunity to once again salute the bravery and resilience of India’s armed forces, whose efforts have enabled the safe return of cricket. The board reaffirms its commitment to national interest while ensuring the successful completion of the league."
