The two films from last week that made the cut

Manifest has partnered with IAA Voice of Change and UNICEF to identify and celebrate advertising that challenges stereotypes and promotes more progressive gender representation.

The committee for this section consists of Nina Elavia Jaipuria, chairperson, Women Empowerment Committee, IAA India Chapter; Megha Tata, co-chairperson, Women Empowerment Committee, IAA India Chapter; and Geetanjali Master, partnership specialist, public and private sector engagement, resource mobilisation section, UNICEF Delhi.

This week's selection did not feature a clear standout. However, Toyota Hybrid and Sebamed receive 'special mentions' for making small but meaningful attempts to challenge gender stereotypes in different ways.

Toyota Hybrid

By depicting driving as a shared, everyday responsibility rather than reinforcing gendered assumptions, the film subtly promotes equality behind the wheel.

Sebamed

For taking a different approach to advertising a women's hair care product. Rather than focusing on conventional beauty ideals, the campaign features women shaving their heads to address the realities of hair loss. It challenges traditional gender norms around beauty and presents a more authentic and empowering narrative.
