Sony Sports Network, in an attempt to double down on regional sports entertainment, has launched two standalone channels - Sony Sports Ten 4 Tamil and Sony Sports Ten 4 Telugu, which is set to go live on 10 July 2025.
This move marks a strategic realignment of the network’s regional offerings to provide language-specific, culturally resonant sports content for diverse Indian audiences.
The newly launched channels will serve as dedicated destinations for Tamil and Telugu-speaking viewers, ensuring more personalised programming and a clearer path for fans to access live sporting action in their native language.
In addition to the regional launches, Sony Sports Network is also refreshing its popular Hindi sports channels. Sony Sports Ten 3 (SD) will be renamed Sony Sports Ten 3 Hindi, while Sony Sports Ten 3 (HD) will become Sony Sports Ten 3 Hindi HD.
The rebranding reflects the network’s continued focus on enhancing viewer clarity and offering consistent, high-quality content tailored to the Hindi-speaking market.
With this realignment, Sony Sports Network is deepening its commitment to making sports more accessible, engaging, and emotionally connected for Indian audiences.
The network's move to streamline its offerings by language ensures that fans across the country can experience the thrill of sports in a format and tone that feels closer to home.
This timely development comes ahead of a blockbuster sports calendar that includes two of the biggest cricket properties - the ongoing India tour of England series and the Asia Cup, alongside global events like the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), UEFA Champions League, and more.
Rajesh Kaul, chief revenue officer - distribution and international business and head - sports business, Sony Pictures Networks India, said, “The launch of Sony Sports Ten 4 Tamil and Sony Sports Ten 4 Telugu is our endeavour to provide localised content on dedicated Tamil and Telugu sports channels that make it easier than ever for fans to enjoy their favourite sporting moments in the language of their choice. This launch is about creating a seamless viewing experience and building a stronger emotional connection with our audiences in the regional markets. We aim to bring premium sports content closer to home and deliver the joy of live sports in a way that feels personal and relevant.”
