Lanka Premier League to be broadcast on Star Sports

FanCode had earlier bagged the digital rights for the tournament.

The Lanka Premier League (LPL) has announced that the sixth season of the tournament will be broadcast in India on Star Sports on television. This follows the digital rights bagged by FanCode.

The tournament is scheduled to be held between 17 July to 8 August. The tournament is organised by Sri Lanka Cricket, with commercial rights held by Innovative Production Group FZ (IPG).

Anil Mohan Sankhdhar, founder and CEO, IPG Group and official rights holder of the Lanka Premier League, said, "The Lanka Premier League continues to strengthen its position within the global cricket ecosystem. The record interest shown by players this season, with more than 650 overseas registrations from 21 countries reflects the growing appeal of the league among both players and fans worldwide. As we enter our sixth season, our ambition extends beyond staging a successful tournament. We are committed to creating a platform that contributes to the growth of Sri Lankan cricket, provides opportunities for emerging talent to compete alongside some of the world's best players, and delivers a world-class experience for fans across markets. The 2026 edition of the tournament will see the debut of Indian international player Vijay Shankar. Other international stars include Moeen Ali, Jimmy Neesham, Shakib Al Hasan, and Taskin Ahmed.
