Star Sports' promo for the Men's T20 World Cup

Star Sports has rolled out the promo for the upcoming Men's T20 World Cup, which kicks off on 7 February.

The promo opens with Jemimah Rodrigues, a member of the Women's ODI World Cup-winning squad, stating that the team created history on 2 November 2025, when they beat South Africa to lift the cup. She calls on the country to return to the stadiums with the flag in hand as it's time for the men's team to shine during the tournament, and states while the country has got one cup home (the Women's ODI World Cup), it's time to retain the other, referring to India winning the Men's T20 World Cup in 2024. The film ends with Shafali Verma, who won the Player of the Match in the 2025 final, delivering a modified version of a celebrated Bollywood line stating 'Hamare Chore Choriyo Se Kam Hai Ke' (our nation's boys aren't any lesser than the girls).

What we think about it: The line Verma delivers clinches what was looking like a match-winning promo in any case.

The film went on-air on television and across social media on 11 January.
