Marico has announced a strategic investment in Cosmix Wellness, signing definitive agreements to acquire a 60% stake in the company at an equity valuation of approximately INR 375 crore.
The transaction will see Marico take a majority holding in Cosmix Wellness, which owns digital-first functional wellness brand Cosmix.
The founders will retain the remaining stake and continue to lead the business.
Cosmix offers a portfolio of plant-based protein powders, fermented yeast protein powders, and functional superfood blends, and has recently expanded into functional foods such as plant-protein pancake mixes and protein bars.
The company has been bootstrapped and profitable since inception and has scaled to around INR 100 crore in annual recurring revenue over the last six months, with a high-teen EBITDA margin profile.
Founded in 2019 by husband-wife duo Vibha Harish and Soorya Jagadish, Cosmix focuses on vegan and gut-friendly formulations, guided by a root-cause approach to wellness and sustainable sourcing practices.
The brand has built strong traction on its direct-to-consumer platform, supported by high repeat purchase rates, strong customer lifetime value, and brand recall.
Cosmix also holds the number one bestseller position in the plant protein category across leading e-commerce and quick commerce platforms, reinforcing its leadership in the fast-growing segment.
Following the investment, the company plans to accelerate profitable growth while expanding into adjacent wellness and nutraceutical categories. It will also focus on strengthening its multi-channel distribution network and building a premium, innovation-led brand portfolio.
The move aligns with Marico’s strategy to deepen its presence in the health and wellness space and tap into the growing demand for functional and plant-based nutrition products in India.
