Spotify's 'Roz ke kaam fun banao, Spotify Chalao' campaign.

Spotify has rolled out a campaign, 'Roz ke kaam fun banao, Spotify Chalao' (turn daily chores into fun, play Spotify), to showcase that music doesn’t just elevate life’s big moments, it transforms the everyday ones, too.

The campaign comprises eight ad films.

The films bring the campaign’s idea to life through everyday household chores. In one, a husband mistakes his wife’s repeated “Aha!” for admiration as she irons clothes while singing along to a Spotify track. Another shows a roommate scrubbing dishes with manic energy, completely lost in the rhythm, while still leaving every utensil spotless. The third features a man sitting on the floor and mopping with a bucket of soapy water, swept up in “Maar Daala” from Devdas. Across the films, mundane chores become joyful musical moments, showing how the right song can transform even the most routine tasks. In the remaining five films, they show chores being enjoyed: cleaning a bungalow window, a son changing a light bulb, doing laundry with a hook step, and drying clothes to the tune of Enemy's 'Tum Tum', and a wife getting distracted while she is on a work video call as the husband is cleaning in an absurd way as he is tuned into music on the OTT platform.

What we think about it: The ad films find a simple, relatable truth in the way music can make even the most mundane chores feel more enjoyable, with the exaggerated performances adding humour and memorability to the idea. While the execution is fairly straightforward, its everyday situations, multilingual approach and clever use of familiar music moments make the proposition feel accessible and distinctly rooted in how people already use Spotify.

Shipra Srivastava, head - marketing, Spotify India, says, “There's something universal about how music changes the texture of a moment. It doesn't matter what language you speak or what chore you're doing, when the right song comes on, the task feels different. Cleaning the home, ironing clothes, washing utensils, fixing a light bulb - for millions of listeners, these are already music moments. Our research backs this up - 98% of Indian users say Spotify is essential to their daily routine. This campaign is about that everyday relationship with music, and the joy it quietly adds to the routines we don't think twice about.”

The campaign have been released across five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bhojpuri.
