Healthcare advertising has always operated differently from mainstream advertising. While the fundamentals of brand-building remain the same, the category brings in medical rigour, compliance and multiple audiences - doctors, patients and caregivers - making the work distinctly different from mainstream advertising.

To understand what really sets healthcare agencies apart from their mainline counterparts, we caught up with Medulla Communications’ chief strategy officer, Rajesh Mehta, and executive creative director, Anindya Banerjee. The duo shared their perspectives on what makes healthcare advertising different, the growing role of AI, the changing face of the category and the challenges of attracting talent.

The discussion was moderated by Raahil Chopra, founder and editor, Manifest.
