OpenAI has rolled out its latest India-focused campaign, ‘Everyday Superheroes’, to showcase how ChatGPT is quietly embedding itself into people’s daily lives.
Running through the IPL season, the campaign reframes AI not as a futuristic tool, but as an accessible, problem-solving companion for the here and now.
At the heart of the campaign are seven short films, each set in a different IPL home city, spotlighting slice-of-life scenarios where ChatGPT becomes the enabler. From work and education to everyday problem-solving, the narratives lean into relatability, ordinary people navigating familiar situations, made just a little smoother with AI.
The first film, 'Bala Vs Waterfall' has been launched by the brand that follows the narrative of a man who repairs a leaky water-purifier after consulting ChatGPT, thus turning into a hero in the eyes of his neighbourhood.
OpenAI has partnered with five IPL franchises, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Rajasthan Royals—to embed itself within the fan experience.
What we think about it: By anchoring the narrative in everyday use cases, the campaign builds mental availability through relatability, keeping the brand human. This avoids the intimidation usually associated with adoption of any new tech, especially for a diverse market like India.
Sheeladitya Mohanty, head - marketing, OpenAI India, said, “Across India, people are using ChatGPT in practical, everyday ways, often in use cases we didn’t anticipate. ‘Everyday Superheroes’ builds on that insight, highlighting how people are already bringing AI into their daily lives in relatable ways. Given the scale and cultural relevance of cricket, the sport is a natural way for OpenAI to connect with consumers in the country, and we’ll continue to find the right moments to integrate within this cultural phenomenon.”
The campaign will run across 150+ TV channels and 25+ digital platforms, spanning both live IPL broadcast and general entertainment networks, with the ad films in nine languages - English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati, and Marathi.
