Walkaroo has rolled out a campaign featuring brand ambassador Varun Dhawan, built around the brand’s thought, ‘When you don’t know what to do, Walk. Walk. Walkaroo.’
Set at a neighbourhood talent show, the film opens on the easy familiarity of a community gathering. The mood shifts when a contestant freezes on stage, overcome by stage fright and unsure of what to do next. Just as the awkwardness sets in, Dhawan steps in, turning the moment into an energetic, entertaining sequence.
What we think about it: The familiar setting gives the film an everyday, community-led feel, with the stage-fright setup providing a clear narrative trigger. However, the film fails to effectively build on it, with the footwear connection feeling a tad abrupt and forced into the storytelling, rather than driving the creative device forward.
