Duolingo English Test (DET) has rolled out a campaign, ‘Built for what’s next’, celebrating 10 years of the test.
The film celebrates the millions of students around the world pursuing their dreams of studying abroad. Rooted in the hopes, challenges, and resilience that define this journey, it captures the milestones that shape the experience - from preparation and practice tests to the anticipation of test day and the excitement of receiving results. Each moment reflects the determination, perseverance, and self-belief that drive students toward their goals.
While every journey is unique, these shared experiences connect learners across geographies, backgrounds, and ambitions. Through this universal narrative, the film reflects on a decade of empowering students to take charge of their futures through a digital, accessible, and secure pathway to international education.
What we think about it: The film delivers a universally relatable portrayal of the study abroad journey, celebrating the aspirations and resilience of students around the world. The narrative is warm and authentic, though a more distinctive emotional peak could make the film even more memorable and impactful.
Tara Kapur, marketing director, Duolingo English Test, said, “For the past ten years, we've had the privilege of supporting millions of students as they pursue their dreams of studying abroad. In that time, we've not only helped open doors to opportunities around the world but also gained a deep understanding of the journeys behind those aspirations. This campaign celebrates those students and the ambition that drives them forward. As we mark this milestone, we're proud of the role we've played in making global education more accessible and look forward to supporting the next generation of students as they pursue their dreams.”
