Madhya Pradesh Police have registered an FIR and arrested a partner of Riddhi Siddhi Cable Network in Shamgarh, Mandsaur district, following a complaint by JioStar over the alleged unauthorised retransmission of its pay television channels.

The FIR was registered on 1 August 2026, at Shamgarh Police Station under Sections 37, 51, 63, 65 and 65A of the Copyright Act, 1957.

The action followed a complaint and evidence submitted by JioStar alleging that the cable operator was retransmitting its pay television channels without authorisation.

Following the registration of the FIR, police conducted a raid at the cable network’s control room and seized equipment including a television, transmitter, optical receivers, DTH equipment, network devices and other broadcasting infrastructure.

According to the FIR, the operator allegedly sourced broadcast feeds using consumer direct-to-home (DTH) equipment before distributing them through its cable network. The investigation also alleges that the network had deployed around 2,800 set-top boxes and was distributing television services to residential and commercial subscribers.

Police said post-enforcement verification found that the alleged unauthorised retransmission of JioStar channels had ceased. The investigation is ongoing.

The latest action comes days after Andhra Pradesh Police registered an FIR and arrested an individual following a complaint by JioStar over the alleged unauthorised distribution of its television channels and digital content through the 'Star Share' IPTV application in Guntur district.
