Team Leo (top) winning the 'Agency of the Year' and team McCann and Nestle receiving the 'Client of the Year'Leo bagged the 'Agency of the Year' title at the Effie Awards held in Mumbai on 13 February.
The agency won five Gold, 10 Silver and 16 Bronze. Two of the Gold wins were for 'Reframing How Farmers Look at Soil' for Lay's. It won a Gold each for Acko (Giving India's Salaried Class a Health Insurance Wake Up Call', Whisper (Redesigning Product, Promotion and Curriculum to Explain Periods to 8y.o) and Spotify (Dominating Music Streaming, Every Year to Stay on Top).
McCann won a Grand Effie for Maggi's 'Why save the best for the last?' and finished second on the agency tally with three Gold, six Silver and eight Bronze Effies. It won a Gold each for Maggi's 'Humara Wala Yellow', Nescafe's 'Brewing India's Coffee Habit', and Sintex PurePlus' ' Touch of Trust'.
Nestle was awarded the 'Client of the Year'.
The Womb was third on the 'Agency of the Year' tally and the most-awarded independent agency. It won four Gold, two Silver and two Bronze Effies. Three of the Gold wins were for Piramal Finance, two for the entry titled 'Aaiye Baat Karte Hai' and one for 'Neeyat Ki Parakh'. The other Gold win was for Britannia Bourbon's 'Once Ignored, Now Unignorable'.
Cheil SWA was fourth on the tally with two Gold, six Silver and four Bronze. The Gold wins were for Samsung Galaxy Empowered's 'The Authority Crisis: How We Put Teachers Back In Control' and Samsung Galaxy A16 5G's 'How a Small Village Out-influenced the Influencers'.
Famous Innovations also bagged two Gold Effies along with a Silver and two Bronze. The Gold wins were for Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's 'Seven Layers of Truth - Ultrasound Envelopes, Reimagined'.
BBH Communications' Garnier Men's Facewash entries titled 'Washing Away Old Habits and Redefining Hygiene by Convincing One Man' (for Garnier) and 'Wear Your Wins: Turning Women’s Day into a Movement of Self-Recognition' (for CaratLane) won a Gold each.
Havas Creative India won a Gold and a Silver. The Gold Effie was for Pepsi's 'Pepsi Anytime' campaign.
Other Gold winners on the night were Flipkart (From Cart to Kumbh: Flipkart Delivers Peace of Mind), VML (KitKat Turns a Cultural Question into a Disruptive Growth Story) and ITC (Mangaldeep Ka Mahakumbh).
