Myntra has rolled out its Big Fashion Festival campaign featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Tripti Dimri, and filmmaker Karan Johar.
The campaign also ropes in rapper Baba Sehgal, standup comedian Aaditya Kulshreshth, and film critic Rajeev Masand for quirky cameos. The film to showcase the humongous discounts on offer at the online portal ahead of the festive season has all the celebrities playing their real-life personas.
Conceptualised by Tilt Brand Solutions, the ad opens with the celebrity managers of Kapoor, Dimri, and Johar, exchanging notes and airing their grievances that their clients have gone into a shopping frenzy since Myntra’s festive sale began. The gag: the celebs have run out of occasions to flaunt their endless fashion hauls, which leads to over-the-top fashion flexes in the unlikeliest of situations, such as a pet dog's birthday party or a random lady's retirement party. The narrative cuts to exaggerated, comical scenarios - Kapoor interrupts Kulshreshth's comedy set, while Dimri lands up at Sehgal’s shoot to showcase her lehenga. Johar goes to the extent of inviting Masand, a film critic home only to show him a reel of his latest fashion collection.
What we think about it: The campaign lands its core message of 'unmissable deals' leading to uncontrollable shopping with slapstick energy. The celeb-driven gags create recall and offer entertainment value, while effectively showcasing the fashion brand's sale frenzy.
