Tata Play Binge has expanded its content offering with the launch of Shots, a new category dedicated to mobile-first, vertical micro-dramas designed for quick, immersive viewing on the go.
Available at no additional cost to all active Tata Play Binge subscribers, Shots aggregates short-form episodic content from multiple creators and partners in a single destination.
Shots features 1–2 minute episodes optimised for mobile consumption, targeting moments such as commutes, queues, and short breaks. At launch, the platform offers over 160 micro-dramas across action, drama, and thriller genres, with more than 110 hours of short-format content from initial partners Bullet and STAGE.
Additional content partners are expected to join in the coming months.
The experience is built for vertical viewing with a scroll-friendly interface, auto-next playback, and intuitive discovery. Users can access Shots within the Tata Play Binge app via dedicated homepage rails and a standalone Shots section, allowing seamless discovery without switching apps or managing additional subscriptions.
At launch, Bullet and STAGE are bringing a slate of micro-dramas across Hindi and regional languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Marathi. Titles available on Shots include Ishq Kills, Divorce Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Rent A Boyfriend, and Main Hoon Aprajita in Hindi; One Last Ride in Telugu; and regional titles such as 12vi Aala Pyar and Gaurav Ki Sweety (Haryanvi), and Aafat Ya Pyar and Horror Haveli (Rajasthani).
The launch of Shots further strengthens Tata Play Binge’s position as one of India’s most comprehensive OTT aggregators. The new short-form layer complements the platform’s long-form catalogue, with a clear focus on driving higher daily engagement and viewing frequency, all within a single app experience.
Shots will sit alongside a wide range of OTT platforms already available on Tata Play Binge, including Prime Video, JioHotstar, ZEE5, Apple TV, Lionsgate, FanCode, Aha, SunNXT, Discovery+, BBC Player, ShemarooMe, Hungama, EpicOn, Chaupal, STAGE, Waves, Klikk, ManoramaMax, Nammaflix, iStream, Times Play, PTC Play, Tarang Plus, Playflix, Docubay, Travel XP, VROTT, Animax, Hallmark+, Fuse+, Ultra Play, Ultra Jhakaas, ShortsTV, Curiosity Stream, and DistroTV.
Content from these platforms is available through a single subscription and a unified user interface.
Additionally, Netflix can be availed as a combo pack with DTH channels for Tata Play DTH subscribers. At the same time, Amazon Prime Video is available as an add-on for Tata Play Binge subscribers with a DTH connection.
Viewers can access 30-plus apps on large-screen connected devices via LG, Samsung, Android, and VIDAA OS smart TVs, as well as through the Tata Play Binge+ Android set-top box and the Tata Play edition of the Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Pallavi Puri, chief commercial and content officer, Tata Play, said, “Short-form, vertical storytelling has quickly moved into the mainstream and is now one of the most popular ways people watch content on mobile. As viewers shift toward quicker, more frequent watch sessions, we’ve focused on creating formats that align with these evolving habits. Shots is a natural extension of this—bringing micro-dramas from multiple partners into one seamless destination. By making quality, mobile-first stories available at no extra cost, we’re not only supporting evolving viewer habits, but also helping our content partners reach wider audiences through a unified aggregation platform.”
