Škoda's ‘Fans Not Owners' campaign

Škoda Auto India has rolled out the next chapter in the ‘Fans Not Owners’ campaign with its new film, ‘Recess’.

The latest film unfolds on a school playground, where kids proudly pit their families’ Škoda cars against each other, boasting about its features in a mock showdown. Just as the one-upmanship peaks, a girl flips the script by claiming her car can fly to Jupiter like a rocket. Moments later, she hops into her Škoda with her mother at the wheel, leaving the boys stunned.

Creatively led by BBH India, ‘Team Drive’, Publicis Groupe India’s bespoke ‘Power of One’ unit for Škoda, spearheaded the execution of the film.

What we think about it: The film takes on a refreshing lens by viewing car features through a child’s imagination, along with a subtle nod to women behind the wheel. That said, the storytelling could have been more compelling to sustain engagement.
