Cred has rolled out a campaign 'Rejection' featuring cricketer Gautam Gambhir to showcase the fintech company's rewards offerings.

Conceptualised by Moonshot, the campaign comprises an ad film.

The film opens with Gambhir on a New York street, telling viewers that if they pay their credit card bill on time during the ICC matches, they’ll get a free ice cream on Swiggy Instamart. On the scoop of ice cream he’s holding sits a tiny Gambhir. Once the announcement is done, the larger Gambhir eats the smaller one, and the ice cream suddenly grows to massive size, racing down the street. Cut to a conference room, where the ad is being screened for Gambhir. The producer explains it was all created with AI and asks for his thoughts. Gambhir, furious, grabs a cricket bat and smashes the laptop.

What we think about it: The film stays true to Cred’s offbeat brand language, blending absurd visuals with deadpan humour to spotlight rewards in an unexpected way. While the AI twist and Gambhir’s reaction land as a quirky punchline, the chaos risks overshadowing the core message of timely bill payments. Also, the ending felt incomplete, as it wrapped without a clear call to action.

The campaign was rolled out across social media on 14 September.
