Spotify's 'It Gets You' campaign.

Spotify has rolled out a campaign, 'It Gets You', featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, to spotlight features like Daylists, Spotify Mixes, and Song Radio - positioning them as tools that adapt to changing moods and evolving tastes.

The campaign comprises two ad films.

The first film (above) 'Bebo Spills the Tea' opens with Kareena and Saif seated on a couch for a video byte. Kareena says she knows her Saif well that he isn’t about grand gestures but the little things. The scene then cuts to Saif, who quips sarcastically that maybe the tattoo was too small. Kareena continues, claiming she knows his playlist too, only to be proven wrong. A voiceover steps in to underline the point: Spotify knows him better, spotlighting its Mix feature.

The second film 'A Day in the Life of a Nawaab' kicks off with Saif reflecting on how Sundays are his time for self-reflection. Just then, Kareena walks in to ask his opinion on her outfit. Saif calls this his “Saif Space,” only for Kareena to continue with her weekend plans. He remarks that they go through this same routine every weekend, adding that even Spotify knows it’s his downtime. The film highlights Spotify’s Daylist feature, which refreshes six times a day. A voiceover towards the end of the film comes on to remind Kareena that no one knows Saif like Spotify.

What we think about it: Cleverly plays on Kareena and Saif’s real-life chemistry to land Spotify’s proposition, making the humour feel natural rather than forced. While the narrative is light and relatable, it leans heavily on star power, leaving the product features feeling more like a punchline than the hero.
