ChatGPT's campaign

OpenAI has continued its focus on cricket in India for ChatGPT.

After releasing a campaign featuring women cricketers Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, the AI-tool has rolled out a two-film campaign that is on-air during the Men's T20 Cricket World Cup.

One film (above) shows how a cricket academy is set up in Goa to train women cricketers. The coach turns to ChatGPT to ask it how she can start a professional academy for girls in the state. ChatGPT gives it a step-by-step response, which helps her create the academy and train the girls.

The second film shows a young bowler at the nets. As she's ready to take her run-up to bowl, she recounts an earlier conversation with ChatGPT, which reminds her to be consistent with her line and length.

Both the films have been directed by Bharat Sikka and have the soundtracks 'Ek Din Bik Jayega'  and 'Aanewala Pal Janewala Ha' respectively playing in the background.

What we think about it: We love the focus on a women's cricketing academy and a young girl bowling. Turning to grassroots cricket seems to be a smart move for the app to reach a wider audience. However, one felt that the campaign resembles Google's 'Search pe Dhoondenge to Milega' campaign.

The campaign went live on 7 February.
